The Journal of Management Studies and XLRI invite you to attend their Publishing Workshop in Jamshedpur. The workshop will feature JMS editors and a set of distinguished scholars from/based in India, and it will be led by JMS General Editor Johann Fortwengel (King's College London).
Program Structure
Day 1
Morning
In the morning, we will focus on professional development with an emphasis on strategies for successful publishing in the areas of entrepreneurship and innovation, organization behaviour, international business, strategy, HRM, organization theory. It will feature presentations by experienced editors, as well as focused discussions on key topics related to publishing such as:
- How to craft a theoretical contribution
- Writing for scholarly and societal impact
- Understanding and navigating the review process
Afternoon
In the afternoon, we will invite selected participants to present their papers and engage in a Q&A and feedback session. Feedback will be provided by experienced JMS editors and distinguished scholars from/based in India, with the aim of helping authors prepare their papers for subsequent submission to a leading journal. For this part of the workshop local scholars will also volunteer their time to provide feedback, alongside JMS editors.
Evening
We will end the day with a panel discussion on publishing strategies and how to manage your academic career.
Day 2
(afternoon only)
We will begin with a focused discussion and follow it with further paper presentation and feedback sessions.
How to Participate
Attendees will be selected on the basis of the quality of their application. Applicants must fill out an online registration form and provide a summary of the motivation, findings, and contributions of their paper.
